So what's been going on in Joe's world for the past month or so since I've posted on here? Pretty much the same old things. I did finally get my transcripts from my old college, and those had sort of an interesting plus to them: The somehow lost track of my first four years, the awful years, of my college career. Only two classes show up on the transcript, and they're both A's. So I don't have to worry about my GPA if I happen to decide to transfer to a 4-year school down here in Texas. I haven't yet applied to NCTC, but I need to do so very soon if I plan to go during the summer.
The job is pretty much the same crap. I found out the other day, through the grapevine, that I didn't get the IT job that was opening up. Turns out that a guy from back in Make Ready who was taking a few IT classes when he dropped out of college, but who is friends with some of the managers, is better qualified to do the job than someone who's been doing it professionally for 13 years. Guess it just goes to show that sometimes you can get more places in the world by sucking up than by actually working hard.
And, after spending who knows how much time down in the file room stewing over all that crap, I've decided that I will go back into the IT world. Rather than trying to do programming, though, I'm going to see if I can get myself a DBA qualification and work as a database manager. Maybe add some more similar types of things later, if I can find a decent job that lets me have enough time and money to get the qualifications.
Anyway, that's about it for now...
